A reducer is a key component of the reactor’s drive system, typically connected to an electric motor and a stirring device. The types of reducers commonly used in reactors include harmonic reducers, cycloidal pinwheel planetary reducers, two-stage gear reducers, and V‑belt reducers; the specific type should be selected based on the actual production requirements.

Harmonic drive: A novel mechanical transmission that employs a planetary gear set as the flexible wheel, achieving a high reduction ratio through small‑tooth‑difference internal gearing. Compared with other types of gearing, it features a simple structure, compact size, light weight, large speed ratio, high load capacity, smooth operation, and excellent sealing performance. Harmonic drives can be used in low‑speed mixing applications without requiring multi‑stage gearing, and are suitable for environments with explosion‑proof requirements.
Harmonic drive planetary gear reducers: These are speed-reducing devices that employ a planetary transmission with internal meshing and a small tooth‑difference, offering a high reduction ratio, high transmission efficiency, a compact structure, convenient assembly and disassembly, long service life, high load capacity, smooth operation, light weight, small size, and few failures, making them increasingly poised to replace worm‑gear reducers. However, harmonic drive planetary gear reducers have relatively limited resistance to overload and impact loads; they can tolerate short‑term overloads of up to 75%, deliver a starting torque equal to twice the rated torque, and permit reverse rotation. They are suitable for applications with explosion‑proof requirements and can be supplied directly coupled to electric motors. The allowable axial force can be calculated based on the bearing life, and these reducers require the use of clamp‑type couplings.
Two-stage gear reducer: a two-stage, in-line, parallel‑axis helical gear transmission with precise gear ratios and long service life. Within the same speed‑ratio range, it offers advantages over other types of drives, including compact size, high efficiency, low manufacturing costs, simple construction, and convenient assembly and maintenance. The two-stage gear reducer permits reverse rotation and can be coupled to the agitator shaft using either a clamp‑type coupling or an elastic‑block coupling. It is suitable for applications where no external axial loads are permitted or where only small axial forces are allowed, and it can be used in explosion‑proof environments. It is supplied with direct motor connection.
V-belt reducer: A single-stage reduction device driven by a V-belt, it features a simple structure and, under overload conditions, slips to provide safety protection. However, belt slippage prevents the maintenance of a precise transmission ratio. The V-belt reducer permits reverse rotation and is connected to the agitator shaft via a clamp-type coupling; both the agitator and the shaft are supported by the unit’s bearings. It is not suitable for applications with explosion‑proof requirements.
